Ryan/KG is a canon background ship from Kyou Kara Maou. Ryan is a human soldier who accompanies the main characters on a mission to a desert country. The party is separated by an attack from a sand bear, a giant panda-like creature that lives in the desert. Conrad, Ryan's commander, reports afterwards that Ryan left the party because he felt he'd found his soulmate. Ryan and the sand bear, now named KG, reappear from time to time in the series, with Ryan now acting as KG's trainer. Ryan and KG later marry in one of the official drama CDs.[1]
The ship is usually treated as crack, but it has a minor semi-ironic presence in the fandom.
