Ruthless Pursuit of Blood Zine was a proposed fanzine for Interview with the Vampire (TV series). The zine's proposed content restrictions were not well-received by the fandom, and the project was cancelled.
The project had both a Twitter and a Tumblr, and was run by Tumblr users thecoffeerain and bloodmaledikt.[1]
It has been referenced since in discussion of antis, proshippers, and online conflict.[2][3][4]
Zine Guidelines
⚰️GUIDELINES⚰️
- Follow the schedule of the zine and follow up with the mods for extensions/let us know in a timely manner if you can if you need one.
- No incest, pedophilia, underage, noncon, rape, or otherwise proship content will be allowed in the zine for the safety of the fans , creators in the zine, and for the mods.
- Sexual and romantic ships with Claudia involved will not be allowed. Once again for safety of fans, creators, and the mods.
- Blood and mild gore are allowed. Do not go Final Destination levels, though, please.
- Ships of consenting adults will be allowed, whether it be loustat or Daniel Malloy and Armand.
- Adhere to our rules on sharing wips before the project ends/ sharing period begins.
- Racism concepts within works will be spoken about with mods and the creator wishing to include it. This will be a heavily vetted concept as we do not wish to cross any boundaries or lines but also do not want to erase it given the content.

Fannish Response
Many fans took exception to the concept of a Vampire Chronicles zine with such content restrictions, with several mocking the contrast between the source material and the zine's proposed content restrictions.
The irony of this post is amazing. Why are you even consuming Ann Rice's works? Is Ann Rice not allowed herself for all the sweet Marius/Armand content? Why do you even read her works? You guys are so funny.

Waking up to Antis running an IWTV zine at 6am felt like a fever dream, but it's very real and ultimately very funny. Absolute clown behavior. I hope Anne haunts you and delivers a C&D from beyond the grave

However, a few fans disagreed with the criticism of the zine.
IWTV fandom person here, heard about the zine drama and honestly I think it's okay to not want certain things in the zine you are running, even if they're totally unreasonable. That being said I don't know why they had to declare 'no proship stuff', rather than just curate the zine based on their preferences/what they deemed appropriate. Seems like a lot of this could have been avoided and we would have ended up with a nice (if vanilla) zine to enjoy.

I - am so bummed the iwtv zine deleted :/
- i get the wording was vague and some clarifications needed to be made to help outline the goals#but I felt like it was more about people using the same word for potentially different things - and wanting to do something exclusively -#for IWTV 2022 Loustat vs this intentionally harmful exclusionary thing#but yeah i figured after the interest check came out it would just be a matter of clarification of the goals#and instead it's been deleted and though i understand - and i hope the mods are okay - yeah sigh I'm bummed :/#time for four different zines to come out at once to meet all the needs#because one zine will never be able to and that's okay too#just yeah sigh :///

Oh damn, does the IWTV zine account legitimately not exist anymore? I hate to think they deleted, but like….. Like they could have just amended some statements or changed their language a little bit, but, c’est la vie 🤷🏻♀️
