"Rout "[1] is a short story written by fawatson for queen_ypolita as part of Yuletide 2011 challenge. It features Vivian Lingard and Jan Lingard of Purposes of Love, which is one of Mary Renault's early contemporary novels. The story is devised as a series of flashbacks Vivian is thinking about during Jan’s funeral (post-book). The flashbacks provide insights into Jan’s romances pre-book.
