Zoro/Robin, commonly known as pormanteau ZoRobin, is the het pairing of Roronoa Zoro and Nico Robin from the One Piece fandom.

Fandom

This pairing, according to some fans, works good as they compliment each other well. While some fans think their age gap is slightly bothersome, both of the character's maturity makes up to it. Their interactions throughout the series are minimal but they are always seen together, harboring mutual trust and great respect towards each other. Zoro's distrust in Robin gradually develops to his recognition of her past and her knowledge of the Poneglyphs. While this pairing is platonic, their chemistry and potential are what led artists and writers to ship them.

ZoRobin as a het ship has lately been rising in popularity despite the lack of interaction in Wano Arc.

Trivia

  • In Eiichiro Oda’s 1994 Monster manga, there are some parallels that can be linked to the pairing — Zoro’s resemblance with the samurai Ryuma and Robin sharing a similar tragedy with the heroine Flare who is the only survivor of her village that was ravaged by a dragon.
  • Robin’s official color is violet, while Zoro’s official color is green.
  • In the 11th cover art for Alabasta, a Strawhats vs Baroque Works color spread shows the rest of the strawhats facing the foe they are going to fight against. Zoro, sneering, is matched against Robin despite her being the only one to not fight in any of the battles.
  • Zoro and Robin's relationship with Chopper can be seen as a mother and father.
  • In Chapter 562, Robin is featured in the cover art as she's being imprinted by a flock while an independent duckling with three sticks similar to Zoro is seen waddling in the other direction.
