Reactions and Reviews
I confess to being a little annoyed when I started reading this, because I felt the author was in error for making it ten years since the five year mission; and, therefore, ten years since Kirk and Spock had last seen each other (whereas, the novelization of the movie clearly states it's been about 2 1/2 years since the five year mission). As I read on, it gradually became apparent that this was an A/U, so I was able to accept the inconsistencies from 'real Trek'. However, I do feel that it should have been more clear early on that this was an A/U version of the ST:TMP era. After getting past the above difficulty, I enjoyed this story thoroughly. It set an excellent mood, and I loved the maturity of the characters. There was a lot of feeling; yet, no gushing or whining -- a difficult feat. The sex scene was highly erotic and consistent with the dry tone. I only wish the story would have continued. We were tossed a few tidbits about these characters' past, and I would liked to have known more about it, as well as their future. [1]
This is her story...but this phase of their lives consisted of being apart 10 years? I hadn't thought they had ever spent that much time apart. The rest of it I enjoyed, except for the bit about the semen. That's just not my cup of tea, but then I'm only one person. [2]
