This is a wonderfully compelling story. The author tells a tale about how different people deal with disease. When our favourite pilot, Tom Paris, contracts an AIDS like virus we all learn that the prejudices/differences between Starfleet and the Maquis run deeper then any of the crew suspected. I love this story and I come back to it time and again because I think it really highlights the great things about the characters and shows that the Starfleet way isn’t always the best way. [1]
