Blair starts at the academy but inexplicably moves away. He gets his doctorate in anthro on another subject and then does expeditions and university work. He and Jim keep in touch on a superficial basis. Two years after the last time they met, Jim has a personal and professional crisis, which causes him to seek out Blair. Lovely writing and an interesting post-TSBS path. Well worth a read! [1]

It is one of my all-time favorites in any fandom and I come back to it again and again. The atmosphere of this story -- both the emotional atmosphere and the physical setting -- is so compelling that I think about it often. In any case, thank you.
