Back in early 97 the net was just expanding with newsgroups, webgroups, & email lists. Remember alt.news.? or maybe I’m dating myself here. I was into Xena and Seaquest. Found a few groups discussing the series, read some fan-scripts and thought gee I could write something. Wrote a couple scripts, moved on to fic…found smut…found slash…kind of like finding religion.
Brass in Pocket was fun to write (as most PWP’s are) because it was just Ron’s mind sort of wandering all over the place and I just let the boys cut loose. Tea and Empathy was difficult because I got a bit ambitious with the scope for a short story and had the daunting task of working a Harry/Ron story that equally dealt with the Harry-Draco relationship. Also, body-switching has almost as many land mines as time travel.
The hero must live. HP isn’t a Greek tragedy, it’s an archetypal journey.
