Some Excerpts

When did you join Queen's Own?

I didn't: I started it! Our first newsletter was 1 page, sent to people who had written to DAW, Misty, or Terri Lee at Firebird in February 1988.

What was the first con you went to?

My first con was in Jackson MS (Springfest? 1989? I can't remember), and I went to meet Misty.

Why did you get involved in fandom?

I needed some fun in my life, and I wanted to have friends who could see the value of imagination and of being silly.

What types of things would you like to see Queen’s Own do in the coming years?

Ah, that's for you young folks to decide. I would like to see fandom in general return to the goal of having fun and being an outlet for creativity. Fandom is NOT a way of life; it's a way of play. All intelligent species need play!
