Summary
From Requiem:
Middle Earth lives in peace, yet there remain hidden in the ruins of Sauron's realm, and other deep places long forgotten, artifacts of power and mystery, things with life still in them to work good and evil. When one such artifact comes to Elrond and Gandalf, it falls to Legolas to cleanse it of the evil, but he cannot do it alone. He needs a companion, and despite Gimli's annoyance, that companion must come from beyond Middle Earth. Old mysteries are solved along the way, but it will take endurance and courage to win out over the shadows Sauron's malice has left behind.
