Why this must be read: Because devildoll is a fabulous writer, and you should read everything that she writes! She has a great style, with pitch-perfect characterizations and a terrific balance between comedy, angst and the absurd. This is one of my favorites of hers--and believe me, it was hard to pick just one. In this fic, which takes place on Earth (it's not an AU), John is drowning his sorrows in a local bar, because he's just been dumped by Rodney. The situation, however, is not quite what it seems... The author's description of the story as "foofy humor" is pretty fitting, Sheppard is dense and drunk and it's funny and a little sweet.[2]
