Controversies
9/11 Library of Ruina Update
Project Moon revamped a game system, leading to outrage in the community (particularly the Chinese and Korean fanbases).[1] The game was review-bombed and the devs received death threats. The devs apologized and rolled back the changes of the update, before refining the system in a later update.
Library of Ruina Ending
Fans were dissatisfied with the ending, leading to massive outrage, and the removal of the original ending.[1] Similarly, the game was review-bombed and the devs received death threats.
VellMori Incident
{{Expand It's a really complicated mess that I'm not at all qualified to explain, but this is my best understanding of it.
In July of 2023, in an update to Limbus Company, a new Identity of each of the characters Ishmael and Sinclair was introduced. However, users at dc inside became extremely angry, and this boiled into anger at Project Moon in general, and VellMori was targeted as part of the backlash. A few DC inside users even went to the PM offices. This escalated and became part of the greater South Korean culture wars, making national news. In the end, VellMori left the company, and the incident remains a black mark of the fandom.
