Precure: Over The Rainbow is an art collab for the Precure series celebrating the series 20th anniversary. The project was lead by four mods: Mod Prism (@sweeetspacts), Mod Majesty (@kiehearts), Mod Sky (@tusgumid), and Mod Wing (@dolicehearts)[1].
Each contributor created at least one piece for the collab, with around 110 pieces created and 96 unique fan artists.
History
Beginning as a response to a cancelled collab[2], Precure: Over The Rainbow (or Precure: OTR) was first teased on March 18, 2024, with a series of Twitter posts. It would open for applications on March 20, and close on April 1.[3]
Conversations between artists and the mods occurred in Twitter DM's or in the Precure OTR Artist Discord Server. The page released artist teasers throughout this period, and leading up to the release of the final piece posted completed art of individual Precure teams.
The 'Extra Cures' were given their own piece separate from the main one.
On May 6th a poll was run by the Precure: OTR Twitter account, running an interest check for another collab focused on the civilian designs of the Precure[4]. This received a highly positive response with just above 73% of respondents answering 'yes'. Despite this, another collab is yet to have happened.
Reactions
Precure: Over The Rainbow was received highly, with many contributors and general fans of Precure responding positively to the event.
