From the Publisher

[from the zine]:

It is with great pleasure that ALMOST FOOLPROOF PRESS presents "The Pirate and the Gentleman". Seldom does an editor come across material which is so distinctly superior from beginning to end as was the manuscript for "TP&TG". It held me spellbound from page one through the last word. With the addition of Kathy Lachenauer's hauntingly erotic illustrations, "TP&TG" is a giant step forward in "slash" fiction: instead of just being a pretense for sex, "TP&TG" features carefully developed plots, subplots and characterisation. The intricate story is woven around Richard the Ruthless and Sir Andrew, men of different backgrounds who are thrown together and who must make a pact of allegiance, if begrudgingly, to survive in the violent New World of the 1690's.

Deftly combining action, suspense, intrigue and romance, Jeannie Marie strove to make the readers feel as though they are in the midst of an Errol Flynn movie. Did she succeed? Well, since reading "TP&TG", I find myself frequenting "The Pirates of the Caribbean" ride at Disneyland and humming "Yo, Ho, Ho and A Bottle of Rum" a lot, but you'll have to decide for yourself....
