Her story Partners had me laughing out loud. Rafe and Brown "borrow" Sandburg for an afternoon. Mishaps and hilarity ensue. Her depiction of how the guys stumble across their romantic feelings for one another struck me as very realistic.[1]
Blair gets borrowed for the day, and Jim don't want to share.Jim glared at Simon. "Look at what they did to him! He's . . .broken!"
A dozen other police officers started snickering with laughter. Simon just groaned and briskly rubbed his face with his hands, muttering in frustration under his breath. Finally, he took a deep breath and stared Jim Ellison straight in the eyes. "Jim, he's not a toy. And he's not broken. He's just. . .you all right, Sandburg?"
Blair nodded quickly. "Yeah, Simon. Nothing a few Band-Aids and a good night's sleep won't cure."
The other cops were still laughing, and Jim turned to glare at them. The look of murderous rage in his eyes shut them all up and they immediately turned away, going back to whatever it was they were doing before this all started.
But he's not jealous. And Blair isn't flirting. 'Cause they are both straight, heterosexual men, or are they? I love the way the decide where to have their first kiss. And what a first kiss! This fic is both funny, sweet and hot.[2]
Ok, if you've just read some of the more angsty story recs on this page you may want something light-hearted. I have a few here to counter balance some of the angst fests I've rec'd. This is one of them. This story is so damn funny. And for once I wasn't reading it in the middle of the night trying not to burst something muffling my laughter so as not to wake the whole house up. I read it during the day time and remember having someone yell at me from the living room what in the hell I was reading that was so damn funny. I just love Jim being so Blessed Protector that it borders on acting like he owns Blair. It was just hilarious getting the second hand accounts of what had happened to Blair and others in this little adventure, as it unfolds. Too funny. I love this one. I am sitting here smiling as I rec it remembering how much I laughed throughout it. Go read it, it's hilariously funny. Don't even expect anything serious. It is humor, but damn good humor. Trust me on this. I don't read much humorous stuff, usually the stuff that is funny that doesn't try to be. That just has a fabulous wit to it that keeps me laughing. This one is straight humor though and just plain good.[3]

Humor is subjective and I haven't found many that make me laugh out loud. Despite my dislike of the Blessed Protector thing which sometimes throws me completely out of a story, this one worked for me. Jim feels an almost *ownership* of Blair. Oh, it's quite ridiculous but it made me laugh out loud and grin despite myself.[4]

Rafe and Henri borrow Blair for the day. They just might live to regret it.[5]
It goes without saying that “The Sentinel” offers up endless possibilities for fic writers. The show is, after all, many things all at the same time: a cop show; a buddy show; a sci-fi show where spirit guides, hallucinations, Shamanism, and heightened senses all have their place; a show where New Age gets familiar, and conservative archetypes get less stodgy; and multi-culturalism is completely subtle and pervasive. There can be hush-hush spy-types stories because of Jim’s Special Ops past, and there can be stories that play on the social structure and dynamics found in academia because of Blair. To say nothing of the secondary characters, who are so integral to this universe that mention of them crops up in almost any story. Central, of course, to the show, and to most of the fics out there, are stories that feature Jim and Blair, Sentinel and Guide; two guys, who on the surface, seem to be complete opposites, but underneath it all, turn out to have enough similarities to find common ground together, and really need each other. It also doesn’t hurt that there’s enough UST and touching and grabbing on screen to give rise to a fandom capable of writing stories that can ignite panties across America “Partners” by Josephine Darcy is an amazing story that manages to do the near-impossible: bring in just about every single aspect there is to “The Sentinel” – it’s a cop story; a bizarre case story; a Blair, the anthropology expert story; a 'Sentinel being possessive of his Guide' story; and a story showcasing the second bananas – and filters it all through a fine, mesh sieve of canon and fanon (i.e., Blair being a magnet for trouble in Cascade, which, as we know, is the most dangerous city in America, etc.). It’s laugh out loud funny, to boot, and contains one of the hottest and most hilarious first-time scenes out there! [6]
Oh my god! I just read this story the other day, I freaking laughed till I cried. This story is so awsome I don't even know what to say... I think I'm going to go read it again...I need a good laugh.[7]
This is one of those stories that every time I come across it, I find myself just barking with laughter!I *love* Josephine Darcy's take on the boys! How she can make Jim possessive and ridiculous and touching, and how she takes the 'working a case' genre and practically splits its pants open to show the polka-dot undies underneath!
All that, and she STILL makes the sex hawt! [8]
