Paradaisu Ginga I

Banner for the second edition of Paradaisu Ginga to be added to circle's websites when linking back at the event.

The first edition was held on a Sunday, September 19, 2004 from 11:00 AM to 15:00 PM at the Venue Tokyo Metropolitan Industrial Trade Center (Hamamatsucho Hall). There was 120 slots for direct participation[note 1] and 50 for consignment participation[note 2]. There were also some events programmed for the day, according to the old website, however it does not specify which kind of events.

Slots were 3000 yen each. A slot consisted on half a desk (shared with another circle), a chair, and three participation passes. The whole desk could also be booked for 6000 yen, which also included two chairs and six participation passes. Additional chairs were 500 yen per chair. It was mandatory to buy a brochure with all the guidelines and rules. The brochure was 600 yen. Cosplay was allowed in the event, but to take photos one needed to get a photography permit, which was free of charge. Video filming was not allowed. By June 2 all planned spaces had been filled and the organization expanded the number a bit, which would be allocated by lottery.

Notes

  1. ^ Direct Participation (直接参加 / Chokusetsu Sanka) means that the doujinshi circles attend the event in person. They typically have a booth or space where they can directly interact with visitors, showcase, and sell their work. Participants handle their sales and manage their booth themselves.
  2. ^ Consignment Participation (委託参加 / Itaku Sanka), means that the participants don't attend the event in person. Instead, they send their works to the event organizers or a third party who sells the works on their behalf. The consignor (the one who sends the work) typically pays a fee for this service, and a percentage of the sales might go to the consignment handler or event organizer. This method is convenient for participants who cannot travel to the event location but still want to reach the audience attending the event.
