Paraíso Fanfiction (Often shortened to Paraíso FF) was an eFiction archive for fanfiction in Spanish. It accepted any rating, fandom and ship type. It was originally hosted in www.cafeotaku.org until June 2008. It used to be the second most popular option to publish fanfics within the Spanish-speaking fandom at the time (the first one being fanfiction.net), however after the server crashed, it was no longer available, along with all the stories published.

In December 2008, Sarah Kerrigan announced the return of Paraíso Fanfiction to all users via e-mail. She said that the stories could not be restored, but that they were not lost and would be sent to the author's email upon request. The page remained online for a year, after which the new domain expired and was not renewed.

Some users used to prefer Paraíso Fanfiction to other archives because songfics and Rated MA stories were allowed. Being a page managed by a Spanish-speaking person, the language barrier was not a problem for those who do not speak English when contacting for any problem or question. The text editor was better adapted to the Spanish language than the ff.net one at the time, which used to have problems with accents and other characters unique to the Spanish language. In addition to stories, series, challenges and rec lists could also be published. Users could reply to reviews.

On the other hand, it sometimes crashed for significant periods of time, unlike ff.net which was a more stable page. The search engine was confusing and had a lot of pop-up ads.

Before crashing in June 2008, Paraíso Fanfiction was hosting 8408 stories. When it closed permanently, the page hosted nearly 2000 stories, both new and restored by their authors.

Rules

  1. Stories must be submitted in the correct category. If you can't find one that fits your fanfic, you can send me a message to request a new category or put it in the "Other" category in the meantime and change it to the correct category once it exists.
  2. Titles such as "Please read" or "No title" are not allowed. Before sending your fanfic think of a name that describes your story. This also applies to summaries; phrases like "I can't think of anything", "I'm not good at summarizing" or "The title says it all" shouldn't be added, be creative and write something that broadly describes your story.
  3. Check that your story isn't riddled with misspellings, internet language (like L337, which replaces letters in words with numbers), or full of weird or repeated characters. This applies to both the title and summary as well as the content of the story. Stories that use this type of language will be removed.
  4. Choose the correct warnings and ratings for your stories, especially if they contain adult material.
  5. Do not upload your stories more than once, much less upload individual chapters of the same fanfic separately. In the dashboard you can add chapters to your existing stories.
  6. Plagiarism (copying other people's stories and publishing them on the page) is completely prohibited and will lead the person who practices it to be banned from the page forever. This includes adaptations and recommendation stories, stories by another author with or without the author's permission.
  7. Stories should not be written in all caps; You should carry these only where they should go. This applies to summaries and titles.
  8. No to spamfic: fanfics without history, plot, meaning, etc.
  9. Disrespecting a commenter or author in comments is prohibited, as are spammy and foul language comments.
  10. Images will be limited to one per story and may be added within the story; images within the summary will not be allowed. If the story has an image with adult content, a warning of it must be added. The image must be 700x700 pixels or less, larger images will not be allowed.
Stories that do not follow the rules may be removed by the administration without notice, so please try to follow them as much as possible to avoid problems.[1]
