Pac-Man is a 1980 video game.
History
Debuting in 1980 as Puck-Man, Pac-Man is one of the most famous and popular video games of all time. The plot involved the title character eating pellets and fruits while trying to avoid being eaten by ghosts. The title character became the first video game mascot, and has appeared in many sequels.
It remains one of the few Golden Age games to still make money today. [citation needed]
Influence
Inspired the Buckner & Garcia hit "Pac-Man Fever", quoted above. This later named a trope on TV Tropes, about how media portrayals of video games tend to be dated.
