A PNGtuber is a Vtuber who utilises drawn 2D images instead of a fully animated model. reasons for using such a model vary, though most commonly it is due to not being able to afford a custom model, or hardware powerful enough to stream with such a model. Thanks to the much lower barrier of entry, PNGtubing makes it much easier for someone to join the hobby, and many see it as the first step in becoming a streamer.
