Otakuthon is the largest anime convention in Montreal and one of the largest in Canada. In its first year, there were around 1,800 attendees.[1] In 2012 attendance passed 10,000. In 2022, the convention saw over 29,000 attendees. It was held at Concordia University until 2008, where the location changed to the Palais des congrès de Montréal[1]. Otakuthon hosts several events and panels, including AMV and cosplay contests as well as a busy Artist's alley.
