To kick it off, I have Only Human by LovinJackson. It’s a post S02E23 fic and I didn’t even realise that it was missing from my life but it was really good to see something dealing with the fact that Steve got shot. In the back. Three times. At fairly close range. Even with body armour that is a lot, and I really love the way his whole team looks at him between that and his chair stunt a few seconds later. Especially with Danny’s “nobody likes getting shot” remark in there. It also deals a bit more than the show usually does with the physical fallout of the potential injuries that he would be dealing with, as well as talking about some of the possible reasoning behind him going all super-SEAL at the vet clinic. For a medium length one-shot it’s a pretty quick read and a good one, especially if you’re looking for a bit of closure after the mess that was that episode.
