One thing everyone knew about him was that he’d never go anywhere without his hats. And, as long as she had one of them, he wasn’t going anywhere without her. -- Aww, that's is such a uniquely Hatter way to reassure her. Though I wouldn't put it past him to switch the hats when she tries to return them. :D[1]

I like how it addressed Alice's fear of being abandoned, and it's incredibly sweet and just makes you smile at how much Hatter gets Alice.[3]
