Reactions and Reviews
1990
I could wish the acknowledgement of their love was a bit more detailed, but the rest of the story held my interest. [1]
1991
The premise of this story held many interesting possibilities, but it appeared to me very underplayed. There could have been an elaborately conceived plan for Spock's "logical" acquisition of the statue. Most importantly, I didn't even realize when, in the author's words "he and Spock had acknowledged their feelings for each other". It went beyond subtlety into the overlooked. Yes, I went back to see if I'd missed something, but it wasn't there. To me, the whole idea was to present a way for them to discover each other, but when they did, the story was dropped before any of the lovely possibilities were explored.[2]
