Napoleon Crossing the Alps is a series of five paintings by Jacques-Louis David created between 1801 and 1805. The works depict Napoleon Bonaparte mounted on a rearing horse with his cloak billowing dramatically. The colour of Napoleon's cape and the coat of his mount vary between versions of the painting.
