I think that vid is a desert island one for me too! It is one of my top go-to vids, mainly because of the way she handles the reaction shot. First we have this wildly inappropriate song, and that's given to Rodney as the POV character--and we know from canon that Dramatic, OTT, wildly inappropriate songs are well within his sphere of characterization. And she sells us by giving us the John reaction, building from a clear WTF? (which is our initial reaction as audience) to an amused, fond tolerance for Rodney and his wildly inappropriate metaphors. He is our stand-in for the piece, and it wins me over just as it wins over John. It is awesome in it's use of reactions.

lim is an extraordinary vidder, with thematic depth and the technical chops to achieve anything she envisions, but here she uses her skills to simply smash us with the humor, social awkwardness, and adorableness of Dr. Rodney McKay, PhD, PhD in the full flight of his ridiculous crush on John Sheppard, Irish (girl). Her repurposing of the brilliant song "I Could Be in Love With Someone Like You" by Jason Robert Brown is so twisty and wonderful, see if you don't agree with me.
