Finding Fandom

In 2016, Mvernet was interviewed for Meet Your Starsky and Hutch Writers, where she described how she found fandom:

Three years ago when I retired, I didn't even know what fanfiction was. I'm a Sherlockian and was writing historic articles and poems for my internet "Baker Street Irregulars" group when my kids turned me on to Sherlock BBC fanfiction. I never knew, but I had been writing fanfiction in my head since I was a little kid. I felt like I had finally found a home. After spending some time immersed in stories, I got up the courage to write a Sherlock BBC fic. I have written fics for S&H, Sherlock BBC, Man From UNCLE, Wild Wild West, Star Trek TOS and Hogan's Heroes.
