A mun is an author who writes for a character in fandom roleplay. These characters are sometimes referred to as pups, such as on the LiveJournal community theatrical_muse. Other communities/sites (e.g. Tumblr) use the term muse for the character.
The term mun is derived from the word "mundane." In some communities a writer whose name is unknown may be referred to by the pup's name followed by -mun as though it were an honorific (e.g. "Peach-mun" for the writer of a character named Peach).
