Multiamory March is a multifandom fannish festival celebrating polyamorous ships.
It follows in the footsteps of Femslash February (though on a much smaller scale), encouraging the creation and sharing of fanworks about polyamorous ships and characters during the month of March.
2014
The event was started in 2014[1] on Tumblr by existentiallyqueers.[2]
Femslash February started last year when me and a few others were like “we want this to be a thing” and we drummed up enough interest that it carried itself, it was immensely successful and people want to do it againMy role is primarily that I created the blog femslashfebruary in an attempt to weed junk out of the #femslash febuary tag, because people were dumping m/f and m/m rule 63s in there, and lots of idle posts speculating stuff instead of actual content, not to mention the wank that exploded at the beginning of the month over people using rule 63s to fit the criteria of the theme
This time I’ve decided to make a bit more of a proactive role, by offering themes people can complete if they want to participate but are having difficulty coming up with ideas, and by serving in the monitor role I was last year.
Multiamory March is entirely my idea and I’m attempting to do the same thing as with Femslash February.
But if you want to participate, all you have to do is contribute!!!
2016
Fanworks for the event were reblogged by the Tumblr blog Multiamory-March during March 2016.
An Archive of Our Own collection was created for the event.
2020
Fanworks for the event were reblogged by the Tumblr blog Multiamory-March during March 2020.
In July 2020, the Tumblr blog Multiamory-March announced they would no longer organize the event. The blog has since been renamed to Multiamory-Fanworks to allow someone else to claim the name on Tumblr. The blog still exists as an archive of the content created for several of the previous event years and as a general blog for polyamorous shipping content.
2021 - 2024
In March 2021, the Tumblr blog Polyamships started hosting the event. As of 2024, they continue to organize the month-long event.
