Mr. Garrick Resumes the Stage is a Star Trek: DS9 Garak/Bashir story by Kathryn Ramage.
Summary
A time anomaly takes our boys to 18th-century England, where confusion over Garak's identity leads to theatrical wackiness.
Author's Intro[1]
This little story developed almost spontaneously following a few remarks by Liz Williams about the Garak/Garrick joke in "Cardassian out of Time." I have her to thank for the inspiration.
WARNING
This story does not have any Nazis in it, but it does contain time travel, Augustan fopperies, some Shakespeare and, while there is nothing sexually graphic, there is every indication that the gentlemen involved are -well- involved. Proceed at your own risk.
Disclaimer
Paramount owns Star Trek, DS9, and the characters except for the Drury-Lane actors. This story was written for personal amusement and should not be taken as intended copyright infringement or indeed anything but the product of a slightly bored mind seeking to entertain itself and anyone else who happens to like this sort of thing.
Reactions and Reviews
Lovely, elegant story of time travel and mistaken identity.
"Ha! I will take this opportunity to plug one of my very favourite Garashir fics, from 1998, in which Julian and Garak time travel to 18th Century England and Garak is mistaken for the famous actor David Garrick: Kathryn Ramage’s Mr. Garrick Resumes the Stage— conceptadecency[3]
Delightful time travel farce from nearly 20 years ago, so long ago, I’m linking to a text file. Worth a read! I for one found it hilarious, even as I kept getting worried they’d get caught. [4]
