Motionless in White, often abbreviated MIW, is an American heavy metal band from Scranton, Pennsylvania. Formed in 2005, the band consists of Chris "Motionless" Cerulli (lead vocals), Ryan Sitkowski (lead guitar), Ricky "Horror" Olson (rhythm guitar), Vinny Mauro (drums), and Justin Morrow (bass). The band has stated that their band name derived from the Eighteen Visions song "Motionless and White".
Tropes
Slash is an extremely popular trope in MIW fanfic, this potentially due to the fact all current members are cis men. Although reader inserts are also common (often paired with the eponymous lead singer). Many fics include or refence BDSM, this is perhaps due to the BDSM imagery that is used in some of the bands videos and stage outfits. Another common trope is Vampires; this again is likely due to the singer's appearance and penchant for vampire cosplay.
Ships
The most popular ship in MIW is Chris Motionless/Ricky Olson (Cricky), with Chris Motionless/OC (reader inserts) second. The second most popular ship between bandmembers is Ricky Olson/Ryan Sitkowski (Sitolson)
An example of a chart of ship names is included in this page, which also includes ex-bandmembers Angelo Parente, Josh Balz and Devin Sola. It also excludes current bassist Justin Morrow as it was created before he joined the band.

Fourth Wall
In June 2020, Chris Motionless had to publicly deny having a child due to this fic on Wattpad, which was taken as fact and subsequently misreported.
