Sex Tips for Slash Writers was Minotaur's famous sex resource page for (the typically female) slash writer. The site was launched on or before Dec 1998.

It features sections on m/m Safe Sex, Foreplay, Oral Sex, Anal Sex, Kink, Anatomy, and Culture, as well as recommendations for queer themed movies, books, and websites.

Minotaur also offered an interface where fans could ask him questions, and wryly noted: "Not sure if the sex scene you've written is possible? Use this form to send it to me, and I'll test it out."

Some fans have expressed concern at other fans taking Minotaur's Sex Tips as something too close to gospel, stating that Minotaur's tips, although valuable to many, offer a restricted viewpoint not always in line with other fans' experiences and knowledge.

The Grand Announcement

On Dec 28, 1998 Minotaur announced the website via various slash mailing list.

"Hey slashsibs,

I know I've been lurking lately, but it's because I've been working so hard on getting my new site in working order. It's pretty much done, though I will be adding more and more to it and polishing off the rough edges for a while.

Please forward this announcement to any other slash you happen to be on, since I'm only on two and want to spread the word as far as possible.

Yes, that's right. A website that answers (or at least tries to) all those pesky "what-goes-where" questions about male/male sex for writers of slash. With illustrations and catty asides galore.

Brought to you by world-famous (and astoundingly modest) queer sexpert and slash afficionado, Minotaur.

Need to know just how many fingers can fit inside a guy's ass?

Desperately seeking the perfect "inspirational" video? Unsure just what can really be used for lube? Wondering who to ask those truely personal questions about enemas, deep-throating and positions? Searching for a novel kink to give your characters?

Look no further.

Minotaur tells all (and sometimes too much) on topics ranging from BDSM to poppers to safe sex.

Thrill to lurid descriptions of group sex! Gasp in wonder at the truth about vacuum pumping! Reel in shock to see electric buttplugs!

Comments

2000

The more Minataur gets laid, the better our slash gets. And I like any gay sex guide that comes with pictures. [2]

Note: Be warned, Minotaur is EXTREMELY graphic, although of course that's why it's helpful for the slash writer who knows her characters, knows emotion, and knows what she wants them to do -- but hasn't the faintest idea about the mechanics of male-on-male sexuality. [3]
