Summaries
From the distributor: "During a murder investigation, Jim begins to suspect Blair has suffered abuse as a minor, possibly at the hands of his ‘mentor.’ They must learn to deal with their world spiraling tight around them, while Blair struggles through recovery."
From a 2007 eBay seller: "Jim & Blair are in the middle of what seems to be a thoroughly fine relationship when Eli Stoddard, Blair's 1st mentor, dies. Blair closes down, and it takes all of Ellison's detective skills to get to the gist of Blair's horrifying 1st months at Rainier. Cover by & interior photo manipulation art by Lilac. The younger Eli Stoddard is pictured as the currently aged Chris Mel, rather more like his Oz personality than his Law and Order: Special Victim's Unit."
Reactions and Reviews
I have to admit that I didn't really enjoy this story. It was very disturbing to me for some reason. I even skipped the second book. I think that it might have been because Blair was just so stubborn about being vulnerable, if that makes sense. Anyway, I put the 3rd book on my favorites list because of two simple lines. #1- "Ever heard of freedom of the press?" #2 "Ever heard of getting bitch slapped?" I swear, it's 5:14 in the morning right now (5/13/07) and I still laughed my head off. I haven't had a laugh like that in a while
