Excerpts
Probably my favorite S&H story that I've written is Homecoming. It was written for a prompt, and I'm very grateful for that prompt! I like my serious, angsty, wallowy fics more than my lighter, jokey ones, though I've written lots of both.
My favorite story by anyone in the fandom is -- oh, I don't know! It could be any of a hundred I've read and loved. But if I have to name one (which is impossible), maybe The Fighter Still Remains by Dargelos. Don't read it if you don't want to cry, rage, punch the wall, etc. Vintage 1981, and still as wrenching as ever.
I often get inspired by episodes or by other people's stories, but I don't really need to immerse myself in them before I start writing, at least not now that I'm so familiar with the characters. But I do go on fic-reading binges a lot. I love Morgan Logan, Verlaine, Susan, and many, many others.
I had written fic on and off in other fandoms starting in about 1988. I had a few things published in zines, but after I got access to the internet, most of my new stories were posted online. I'm guessing I'd written and posted about 30 or 40 fics, mostly Man From U.N.C.L.E. and Monty Python RPF. Almost all of it was slash. When I discovered S&H, I started writing almost immediately. A Coffin for Starsky inspired my first S/H fic.
