Excerpts

Q: Do you need to watch a few episodes or immerse yourself in other stories or the opposite?

A: I know you're not supposed to be reading fic at the same time you're writing but I always do. I will sometimes go back and watch an ep on my own but more often then not I get inspired by hanging out with other fans and talking about the guys and watching eps together. There's nothing like a con or a good weekend with fannish friends to get me going.

Q: What was your first story? Do you still like it?

A: My first fic was Just Don’t Let Go; I often use song titles or lyrics for my titles because I usually can't think of anything else. Just went back and looked at it again, and yeah, I think I do still like it. It's kind of rough and you can tell that the writer wasn't very experienced, but I'm still glad that I managed to get it out of my head and onto the page. And then got brave enough to post it. That still makes me nervous.

Q: What is your favorite story that you wrote, and in the fandom.

A: I still have a sentimental attachment to Every Little Kiss as that story was the only good thing that I got out of a truly awful relationship. Lucy published it in one of her zines, I learned so much from her editing, and I'm still proud that she thought it was good enough to print.

It's hard to decide my favorite story in the fandom because there are so many good ones. I've always been a sucker for a good hurt/comfort story and we're lucky to have so many in Starsky & Hutch. I think if I had to pick a favorite it would be Flamingo's Total Eclipse of the Heart by Flamingo. I've reread that story so many times and there are scenes in there I keep going back to because they still grab me by the heart.
