Excerpts

What made you start writing stories? Had you written fic in other fandoms?

S&H was my second fandom. I began in Star Wars: The Phantom Menace with Qui-Gon/Obi-Wan slash. I had never heard of slash before then, but once I'd discovered it, I was tuned in and turned on. Eventually the Jedi stopped talking to me and I waited for the next fandom to flip the pleasure switches in my brain. I saw a Starsky & Hutch vid get posted on LiveJournal and I watched it...and all my emotions came flooding back. I watched vid after vid and began to read the stories. Eventually I wrote my first story for the fandom, "I Give Him Christmas", and made my first-ever fanvid, "Chasing Cars". I've also written in Sherlock, as well as a few one-offs in fandoms I'm not really part of as gifts.

I started writing because an idea formed and I wanted to put it on paper. I'd been encourage as a kid to write more, but I never felt the confidence for it. Plus, when I did do something new, I felt I was then expected to do more whether it was in me or not (I probably put that on myself, really) , so eventually I stopped doing anything that would set up an expectation from others. In fandom, I was given the freedom to write or vid what I wanted, when, and how. I could get crazy, or sexy, or in another reality. There was no limit.

What is your favorite story that you wrote, and in the fandom.

Oh, gosh. My favorite story I've written - probably Ages of a Day and its sequel, The Heart still Aching to Seek; and also Let it Be because I wrote it for KAM. Favorite in fandom: Maybe the first one I read, Gentlemen, Start Your Engines, which is an AU, go figure. I also love A Fine Storm.
