From an proposal ad in Eagle: 1 #3:
What's black and white and read all over? Media, International's newsletter, that's what! What, you may ask, is Media, International? Media, International is a newly founded newsletter, with contributing members, and structured basically as a club, with a president and vice-president, meetings, by-laws, and other such organizational properties.Media, International as a club offers members something that rarely succeeds in fandom (but which we are going to have a go at) -- a chance to be on top of Media events, with reviews, artwork, critiques, analyses, upcoming events, news that never reaches trade papers, biographies - you name it, Media International will probably have it. The newsletter is Viewer Visions. Each issue will try to revolve around a theme, whether it be a specific show or movie, or a general theme, such as fall shows, or science fiction films. The first newsletter, for example, features Star Wars, and subsequent issues will feature the fall season, both old and new, genre movies as compared with mass public films, analyses of recent movies, current events of interest, and much, much more. The newsletter will live on contributions from members. There will be a letters column, with open discussions, there will be an editorial page, and a rebuttal page, for someone with a strong opposing position. Non-members may purchase single issues for $1.00 each, plus post. The dues for one year's membership are a) $3.50, b) 12 13-cent stamps, and c) contributions. So, as you can see, it's cheaper to join Media International than it is to buy single issues.
Hope you will join Media International! The future offers many promising things, and Media International intends to be on top of as much as possible.
