I started writing fanfiction in the late summer/early fall of 1999, right before the Jewish holidays. (So this season marks my eighth anniversary in fandom. w00t!)

Wow, I could [talk about why I love SGA] for hours. Where the show is concerned, I love the characters wildly. (Especially John and Rodney and Teyla and Ronon, though I also have a lot of love for Radek and Elizabeth and Carson and, hell, everyone, really.) I love the range of wacky possibilities inherent in the 'verse. (In a show where giant whales talking to humans, and multiple personalities winding up in the same body, are canon, we have to work pretty hard to reach actual crack!fic, you know?) I love that the show plays with some of my favorite themes -- chosen family, the meaning of "home," people banding together in the service of a goal that's bigger than all of them combined. And where the fandom is concerned, I love how much amazing stuff has been, and continues to be, created out of our love for the show. I love the feeling of being part of an active, excited fandom where we have so damn much fun. I found my way into this fandom thanks to the concerted pimping efforts of a few friends, back in May or so, and I've been in a state of extended fannish honeymoon ever since then...and it's been awesome to feel so welcomed into a new fandom, and to feel like everyone here is psyched to squee with me and talk story ideas with me and express mad love for the show right along with me.
