Excerpts
How long have you been writing fan fiction and/or making fan art and/or whatever else (vids, knitted goods, pornographic gingerbread cookies)?
If you don't count the horrendously bad self-insert Lord of the Rings script (it really was a script!) or the disturbing RPF I wrote about my friends and various teachers in high school (please, please let's not count that) then the first fic I wrote was back in 2004. Harry Potter, sort-of-accidental Remus/Sirius. I say sort-of-accidental because I hadn't consciously processed that I read them as totally, epically gay and in love with each other, and just figured that they were, you know, special. Ah, the mind of a young slasher!
In the past, I wrote fic for Harry Potter, House, Life on Mars, Sherlock Holmes, and Iron Man. Currently, I seem to have been sucked into Torchwood against my better judgment. Otherwise, apart from SGA, you can find me dawdling around the sidelines of the Doctor Who and Pirates of the Caribbean fandoms.
Why do you ship McKay/Sheppard? What draws you to the pairing, what do you like and dislike? Favourite scenes or episodes? Quotes? Screencaps? What other SGA pairings do you ship?
I think -- I think, really, I was programmed to ship them? I got pimped into fandom for John/Rodney fic and then watched the show specifically to watch John and Rodney be Epic Gay Boyfriends in Space. (And then, you know, fell in love with it for a few other reasons as well. *kof*) So the idea of not shipping them is completely foreign to me. It's like trying to deny gravity. Why would you? They're Epic Gay Boyfriends in Space!
One of the things I absolutely adore about them is that really, deep down, they're good for each other. They bring out good things in each other. They don't just complement each other and get on well, but they make each other better. And I love that. It's one of those relationships that, however you want to read it, seems like it will be a staple for them for the rest of their lives. That kind of eternal is just. So epically COOL.
What are your 'tells'? How can a fic of yours be spotted in the wild? (again, go ahead and make origami out of the truth!)
Erm. I'm going to skip this question because anyone who knows anything about my story-kinks would be able to pick this fic out from a line-out with their eyes closed and one hand behind their back. Subtle, I am not.
