Reactions and Reviews
I've read this before, but I enjoyed it more this re-read - stuff like, Blake grabbed Avon desperately by the shoulder. "Remember what happened earlier? This isn't you; they've called in an A/V expert." is pretty funny, as is ""Avon," Blake said, as Gan's huge bulk filled the doorway, "that was sheer genius! Nobody writes slash stories about Gan.". That said, I think it should go in a slash zine, or at least a mixed zine - it's about writing slash for god's sake! And one can laugh at the cliches of slash... if one knows about them. Rather than just laughing at the absurd idea of two men together, when they could be with women. I know this is written by a slash-fan, but still.[1]
Mary Sue Writes Slash, by Judith Proctor. Or rather, Mary Sue *tries* to write slash, but the characters are aware they are being manipulated yet again by those awful fanwriters, and fight back to amusing effect.[2]
"Mary Sue Writes Slash", accompanied appropriately by a Leah Rosenthal cartoon, has a good-humoured giggle at slash cliches.[3]
