Martin Blackwood is a main character of the podcast The Magnus Archives.
Canon
Martin is an assistant to Jon, who initially regards him as a bit of an incompetent annoyance. He develops an unrequited crush on him early in the podcast. In season 1, Martin starts living in the Institute after Jane Prentiss attacks his flat. In season 4, Peter Lukas starts manipulating Martin into becoming an avatar of the Lonely, he briefly is sent to the Lonely after it is revealed he too has been manipulating Peter Lukas in a confrontation between Peter Lukas and Jonah Magnus/Elias Bouchard. He is rescued from the Lonely by Jonathan Sims at the end of season 4 and accompanies him to the Scottish Safehouse.
In season 5 he travels with Jon, who he is now in a canonical romantic relationship with, through the apocalypse with the aim to reach Jonah in the panopticon and end the apocalypse. During this time he is revealed to be an 'avatar' with a domain though he was unaware of this, his domain is a combination of The Lonely and The Eye.
Fandom
Martin is often depicted as fat and white, creating visual contrast between him and Jon who is often portrayed as thin and brown. Martin is also commonly portrayed as tall or taller then Jon. Sometimes, following Martin's journey into the Lonely, he is drawn with white hair.
The most common ship with Martin is JonMartin, which is canon. The second most common is MarTim, Timothy Stoker/Martin, because of their early friendship. Other ships are Peter Lukas/Martin or Elias Bouchard/Martin, which are fairly controversial because both characters are antagonists who Martin hates.
