Marooncamaro is a fanfiction writer who writes mostly The Walking Dead, although they were brought to fandom while riding the Star Trek bus. As an avid Star Trek fan, they first began watching TOS while shipping Kirk/Spock. The Harry Potter fandom has also long kept her interest, although they only recently wrote in that fandom.

Marooncamaro often gets asked about their name, and when queered said, "I started on tumblr and all the names I tried were already used. And I had just gotten my Camaro and loved it, so I tried that and it worked. I wanted something that people wouldn't guess my gender through my name. I wasn't really following any particular fandom, and my interests were varied."

Marooncamaro's published works tend to be 'Non Zombie AUs' in The Walking Dead. Her most popular work (by hits, according to AO3 came from an idea in 2015. When asked about this work they stated, "I put it off for almost two years before I started writing. I'm not sure where the idea came from, but other fics came up before it and tbh, I didn't think I was ready to write tut when I first dreamed it up. But, I always knew that Rick would be laying on the floor, crying over Daryl. I could see it in my head. And I usually hate fics where Daryl is younger, smaller, or feminized to make Rick look stronger. But, I think Curveball did a good job of not making Daryl seem naive or too childish."

Marooncamaro is an admin for the Rickyl Writers' Group and helps manage the groups' slack and tumblr page.
