Manga Barcelona, formerly known as Salón del Manga de Barcelona, is the largest event dedicated to manganime in Spain. It takes place annually in Barcelona (the exact location has changed over the years, sometimes celebrated in L'Hospitalet, which is a town in Greater Barcelona). Manga Barcelona started in 1995 as a small event organized by the FICOMIC (Guilds of Publishers, Booksellers and Distributors of Catalonia). It was one of the earliest manga and anime conventions in Spain, focusing on promoting Japanese pop culture and providing a platform for fans to gather, share their interests, and engage with various aspects of manga, anime, and related media.
Over the years, Manga Barcelona has grown significantly in size and popularity, evolving into one of the largest and most prominent events of its kind in Spain and even Europe.
