Music Video, or MV as it is often used, is a term some fans use for fan-made song videos similar to Vids. The term is used in Kdrama, Jdrama and other East-Asian source fandoms with live-action (not Anime) sources such as K-pop.
The term is also used for official videos released to promote bands or television shows in those fandoms, as well as a general term for the officially licensed videos made for music groups and produced all over the world.
Types of MV
Fans who make this type of video tend to come from the AMV tradition. AMVs are seen as being the primary form of fan-made music video, and other types are named by analogy. Some editors and viewers use AMV as a generic term or have no generic term. Some other types of MV are:
