A lolfan is a fan who, while part of a specific fandom, is primarily there to make fun of the source material or other fans. The fan may or may not genuinely enjoy the source material or serious (non-parody) fanworks. Cases such as these can occur when the source material is considered to be so bad it's funny, or the other fans are so crazy that they loop over into hilarity.
This word was originally coined by cleolinda in specific reference to the Twilight fandom,[1][2] but is not inherently a Twilight-specific term.
