Reactions and Reviews

WARNING: intricate plots, well-developed characters, strong dialogue and more than one tear-jerker scene. "Little Company" is the sequel to "True Minds," which you don't have to read first, but if you like good Sentinel fic, you probably ought to.[1]

This story read like the TV show. I mean, I could just visualize EVERYTHING. I think that's why I teared up around the end. I'm still a little weepy writing this.[2]

Warning: Hints of child abuse in here, not Jim or Blair. And a death of a child. In case you are sensitive to that. Sequel to True Minds. In this one repressed memories from Jim's past (Jim has repressed memories? Since when?) lead them to solving the disappearance of a child. This takes place a couple of weeks after True Minds and the gang is forced to deal with events that occurred in the end of that story. It can get angsty at times, but it's not bad in that department, just enough. It is just as good as the first one, I'd just be repeating myself praising Lanning if I went on here. If you liked True Minds you'll love this one too. Check it out to see that terrific story continued.[3]

Sequel to "True Minds" - a ghost story with a twist. While Blair and Jim are struggling to come to terms with their new relationship, they are faced with a haunting dream from Jim's past and a persistent IA investigator who is determined to convict Simon on the events that ended "True Minds". High action, hot sex, and a riveting plot make this ghost story/romance/action-adventure a definite must-read.[4]

I started reading Sentinel slash before I had even seen the show. It had been cancelled on both UPN and the Sci-Fi channel by then. They had been showing reruns of it on the Sci-Fi channel, but literally the day I started reading Sen fanfic they stopped for a while. I fell in love with the fandom and characters anyway, and since the Sci-Fi channel has now been rerunning the show M-F I haven't missed an ep and am loving (as well as taping) every minute of it.

Some of my favorite Sentinel stories of late, that come to mind are *True Minds* and *Little Company* by Lanning Cook. Lanning is a terrific writer and the stories them selves are just wonderful. Both stories get there names from quotes by Shakespeare. True Minds is actually from one of my favorite poems Shakespeare's Sonnet 110 and Little Company derives it's title from a line in a Midsummer Night's Dream. I love that. Both are rated NC-17 and the pairing is J/B.

*Little Company* takes place about two weeks after *True Minds*. In it Jim and Blair are trying to settle into their new relationship while dealing with the after effects of what happened in True Minds. They are also trying to find out the circumstances surrounding a mysterious child who appears out of no where. And what she has to do with a strange link to Jim's past, when he was a child and had his Sentinel powers. [5]
