Little Birds is a Charles/Erik story by winterhill. It's an AU where all the main characters are birds.

Summary: Bird AU. Erik is a lone kestrel on a mission to destroy the great golden eagle who killed his mother. Charles is an abandoned pet dove with no fear and a dream of making a place where the little birds can fly free. They don’t quite want the same thing, but together they’ll change the world.

Recs and Reviews

If X-Men: First Class was birds. Erik and Charles are a falcon and a dove, and Erik still wants Shaw dead, while Charles takes care of sparrows. Raven is a raven, and it ends up a romantic story that rivals that of shark!Erik and dolphin!Charles."ref>thedogstar. 12 Recs, 09 January 2012. (Accessed 13 March 2012)</ref>

Something about how wholy different the lifes and situations are when the characters we know and love are changed into birds, entertains me thoroughly. Little Birds is a wonderful AU version of a X-Men: First Class fixit. The characters are recognizable even though they are birds and the world they are living in is so well known since it's our everyday life. There are train stations, backyards, abandoned churches and beaches. The powers the characters have is recognizable with some of the birds but generally it's not about that. It's about the interpersonal (interbird) interactions and relationships. I absolutely loved Little Birds from the first meeting between Erik the kestrel and Charles the dove, to their ragtag flock of sparrows, ravens, owls, kestrels and pidgeons at the end. This story had me smile the whole time while reading it.[1]

It's hilarious and full of adorable bird antics and possibly the greatest XMFC fic ever.[2]

XMFC au where they are all birds NO COME BACK IT IS COMPLETELY CHARMING AND AMAZING[3]
