Kill la Kill is an anime series, which ran from 2013 to 2014; concurrently run as a manga series from 2013 to 2015. Among fans it has a reputation for being heavy on fan service with excellent characters and plot[1][2].
Canon
Kill la Kill centers around Matoi Ryuuko and her journey for her fathers killer through the investigation of Honnouji Academy. Here she encouters student council president, Kiryuuin Satsuki, who introduces 'Goku Uniforms' which grant superhuman abilities to the user. After bonding with Senkatsu, a 'Kamui', Ryuuko is granted superhuman abilites which she uses to investigate her fathers murder. [3]
