Jonas Quinn is a main character during season six of Stargate SG-1, filling in the archaeologist/academic role left vacant by Daniel Jackson after the latter ascended at the end of season five. Despite Jonas' short time on the show, the character left a lasting impact for many fans. As he was replacing an already popular character, some fans considered Jonas an inferior substitute for Daniel, while others enjoyed the different energy that the character had.
