The Jemmaverse refers to a collection of ships involving characters played by Jenna Ortega and Emma Myers, as well as the RPF ship for the actresses themselves. Most are crossover ships as Ortega and Myers have only starred together in Wednesday.

There is contention around the Jemmaverse in the Wednesday fandom, as well as with fans of Ortega and Myers, due to Jemma being an RPF ship. A Good Girl's Guide to Murder's fandom also had issues since it already had a small fanbase surrounding the books before Emma Myers was announced as the lead of the TV adaption. In the run up to the show airing the focus on the crossover ship of Pippa Fitz-Amobi/Vada Cavell was annoying to fans of the books, its characters and the canon ship of Pippa/Ravi.

While not all fanworks under the Jemmaverse tag ship the actresses there is a belief that the crossover ships serve the same role as RPF would, particularly when shippers seem less interested in the source material the characters originate from. When Myers was asked about shipping in an interview with NME she commented "Ship who you want as long as you’re not dragging real-life people into it.”[1] This lead to some fans of the Jemmaverse to fully abandon shipping Jemma, though others were undeterred. Muddying the conversation further however, is the fact that some fans use "Jemma" to reference the actresses friendship in a none shipping way or as shorthand when referring to both of them at once.

Ships

Any combination of characters played by Ortega and Myers can be included in the Jemmaverse, however these are some of the most popular combinations:

  • Jemma - Jenna Ortega/Emma Myers (RPF)
  • Wenclair - Wednesday Addams/Enid Sinclair (Wednesday)
  • Sweet CC - Cairo Sweet/CC Walker (Miller's Girl x Family Switch)
  • PipVada - Pippa Fitz-Amobi/Vada Cavell (A Good Girl's Guide to Murder x The Fallout)
  • BeeTara - Tara Carpenter/BeeBee Jordan (Scream x A Taste of Christmas)

The proliferation of most of these ships is attributed to fanartist Novi who drew many of the crossover ships in the early days of Wednesday's fandom.

Never in my life I would believe the crack ship I made was gonna be THAT popular. I can't even imagine sweetcc as a crack ship anymore because it's already a real ship my god...
