James Van Hise is a fan writer, publisher, historian, and con organizer.
Beginning in 1976, he published Enterprise Incidents, a long-running, semi-pro Star Trek zine.
Van Hise was the editor/publisher of Rocket's Blast Comicollector from 1974 to 1983.
He co-produced the 1976 con Omnicon with Don Rosa.
During the 1980s and 1990s, Van Hise wrote numerous unofficial reference guides to Star Trek, including:
